UV Ray Indicator
Hi Followers
Today I made a UV ray indicator. The part I found most hard was looking at today's UV Index. The part I found the most easy and fun was when you have to put the colours in.
Fiona here from the SLJ. Well done on making a great looking wearable UV device! I really like how you made a video of yourself explaining the different colours and what they mean - ka pai! Did it take you very long to make your UV indicator and colour it in?
I think this activity is so great because it teaches us the importance of protecting ourselves from harmful UV rays, especially when it is so hot in summer in NZ.
Cool indicator, the colours are really helpful for understanding the UV rays! Do you find yourself noticing the sun's strength much as a person of colour? I’m Pākehā with my ancestors having come from England, so I get burnt really easily haha. I have a friend from India though and he always tells me he doesn’t get burnt so he doesn’t need sunscreen. I’m not sure though, I think it’s still good to be careful.
