Activity 1 2017 practice SLJ

 Hi Followers

Did you know that people from the Pacific are excellent explorers and navigators. They used the stars, sun and ocean swells to navigate (find their way) around the Pacific Ocean.

Nainoa Thompson used this ancient knowledge to navigate around the world on canoes called Hokule’a and Hikianalia. Here is a short video about Polynesian navigation. Incredible!

If I was to take 10 items on a long trip on a canoe what will I take.

  • A big box full of water
  • another box of fruit
  • A box full of clothes
  • Another box full of caned food like caned rice.
  • Some big books to read
  • my diary
  • MP3 player/Walkman
  • A hat
  • sunscreen
  • Extra things like shoes and other stuff

  1. Ka pai Sharmake. I like the way you explained the task. Great idea to to the link to the video but I can't actually see it anywhere? A hat and sunscreen sound like smart choices. What if all your fruit goes rotten? How could you keep it fresh? Keep up the great blogging. Do you think you'll do more Summer Learning Journey activities?
